I’m a day late, but happy anniversary to my one and only! The last seven years have shown me how quickly time passes and how important it is not to take the little things for granted.

Yesterday I had a pretty serious crash on my mountain bike. It was one of those fluke accidents on a jump line I've ridden hundreds of times.

I landed a little deep on one jump and went to put in a crank before the next one. Unfortunately, I was in too easy of a gear and slipped a pedal right as I was taking off. Everything happened so fast that I wasn't able to separate from the bike. My front wheel caught the backside of the landing, sending me head and shoulder first into the side of a berm and completely knocking the wind out of me.

At first, I thought the pain would subside once I caught my breath, but it became obvious pretty quickly that it wasn't going away. After an ambulance ride to the ER, I learned I had suffered a bruised lung, seven broken ribs, including one displaced rib, and a shoulder injury that is still being evaluated.

I'm incredibly lucky to have walked away from this one, because it could have been much worse.

A huge thank you to my friends Garrett Brian Kerr , Dustin Marc Langer, Braydon-Nicole Bringhurst and the other riders who stayed with me, helped keep me comfortable, and supported me while we waited for EMS. I truly appreciate every one of you.

It sounds like I'll be spending a few nights in the hospital for pain management, followed by a long road to recovery. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages and support, and an especially big thank you to my wife Gentry Kirkland for being by my side through all of this.

This is just a setback. We'll be back before you know it.

Most likely the last day on snows, and boy was it an adventure! Until next season.

I’ve had the opportunity to spend three full days on the new MTN TOP TRKSTR, and all I can say is wow. It’s extremely predictable, nimble, and playful, while still feeling planted and confident. The kit responds perfectly to rider input and does exactly what you want, when you want it to. Overall, it’s an incredibly easy and fun kit to ride.
